1)  Preamble

Welcome to our website! We take the protection of your data and the safeguarding of your privacy very seriously. We would like to explain below which data we process, when and for what purpose and on what legal basis. In doing so, we would like to explain to you how our offered services work and how the protection of your personal data is guaranteed.

According to Art. 4 (1) GDPR, personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified directly or indirectly. Further information on this can be found, among other things, in Art. 4 (1) GDPR.

This privacy policy can be accessed, saved and printed at any time at https://www.walterscheid.com/en/data-privacy/

Insofar as we specify our legitimate interest or a legitimate interest of a third party (Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR) as the lawful basis for the processing of personal data, you have a right of objection as defined by Art. 21 GDPR:

According to Art. 21 GDPR you have the right to

object to the processing of personal data at any time. We will then no longer process the personal data for the purposes of direct marketing or any related profiling.

We will also not process your personal data for other purposes after an objection, unless we can demonstrate overriding legitimate grounds for processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims (see, for example, Art. 21 (1) GDPR, so-called "limited right of objection"). In this case, you must provide reasons for the objection that arise from your particular situation.

You may also object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing of your personal data for scientific or historical research purposes or for statistical purposes pursuant to Art. 89 (1) GDPR, unless the processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest (cf. Art. 21 (6) GDPR).

We will also refer you to the right to object separately again in the individual sections (e.g. by stating: "You have a right of objection"), if this right exists. There you will also find further information on how to exercise your right to object. In order to keep the following data protection policy as concise as possible, we refer at various points to information and data protection notices on external websites (see also the section "Social Networks & External Links" in this data protection policy) by means of links. We make every effort to keep the links that we list in this data protection policy up to date. Nevertheless, due to the constant updating of the websites, it cannot be ruled out that links do not function correctly. If you notice such a link, we would be thankful if you let us know, so that we can update the current link.

The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in presenting you with a website optimized for your browser and enabling communication between our server and your terminal device.

The processed information is stored only as long as necessary for the intended purpose.

The information generated by cookies and web beacons about the use of our website (including the IP address of users) is transferred to a Google server, possibly in the USA or other third countries, and stored there. This information may be passed on by Google to contractual partners of Google.

Information on the existing standard data protection clauses of Google and further relevant data on data processing by Google in the context of the use of Google services can be found in this privacy policy under the section "6) Information on Google Services“.

We use Google Analytics only with activated IP anonymization ("anonymize IP"). This means that your IP address is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

Furthermore, we have concluded an order processing agreement with Google for the use of Google Analytics (Art. 28 GDPR). Google processes the data on our behalf for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for us and providing us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.

By integrating Google Analytics, we pursue the purpose of analyzing user behavior on our website and being able to react to this. This allows us to continuously improve our offer.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data described here is Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR. Our necessary legitimate interest lies in the great benefit that the functions described above have for our offer. The statistical evaluation of user behavior enables us in particular to respond to the interests of our customers and to optimize our offer.

The disclosure of personal data is neither legally nor contractually required, nor is it necessary for the conclusion of a contract. You are also not obliged to provide the personal data. However, failure to provide the data may result in you not being able to use our website or not being able to use it to its full extent.

8) Use of Google Maps

We use Google Maps on our website. Google Maps is a service of Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

The integration of the Google Maps plug-in is done by embedding the service on our website using a so-called "iFrame". When loading this iFrame, Google may collect information (including personal data) and process it. It cannot be ruled out that Google also transmits the information to a server in a third country.

Information on the existing standard data protection clauses of Google and further relevant data on data processing by Google in the context of the use of Google services can be found in this privacy policy under the section "6) Information on Google services".

We do not collect any data ourselves when you use Google Maps via our website.

By integrating Google Maps, we pursue the purpose of being able to present our address to you as well as provide further information for your journey. Also, through this integration of Google Maps, we can present you places, whereby you are not limited to individual map sections and can independently research distances and the like.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data described here is Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR. Our necessary legitimate interest lies in the great benefit that Google Maps offers. Through the integration, we do not have to show the directions to the respective locations on the basis of directions sketches or the like but allow each user to plan his own journey. Google also has a legitimate interest in the collected (personal) data to improve its own services.

Right of objection

You have the right of objection. You can send or inform us of your objection at any time (e.g. by e-mail to gdpr@walterscheid.com).

The disclosure of personal data is neither legally nor contractually required, nor is it necessary for the conclusion of a contract. You are also not obliged to provide the personal data. However, failure to provide the data may result in you not being able to use our website or not being able to use it to its full extent.

You can find more information on Google's data protection policy, which you can access here: www.google.com/policies/privacy/

You can find information on Google's privacy settings at https://privacy.google.com/take-control.html?categories_activeEl=sign-in

9) Google Tag Manager

We use the Google Tag Manager on our website. The Google Tag Manager is a service of Google LLC ("Google"), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

The Google Tag Manager allows us to integrate various codes and services on our website in an orderly and simplified manner. The Google Tag Manager implements the tags or "triggers" the embedded tags. When a tag is triggered, Google may process information (including personal data) and process it. It cannot be ruled out that Google also transmits the information to a server in a third country.

Information on the existing standard data protection clauses of Google and further relevant data on data processing by Google in the context of the use of Google services can be found in this privacy policy under the section "6) Information on Google Services".

In particular, the following personal data are processed by the Google Tag Manager:

  • Online identifiers (including cookie identifiers)
  • IP address

InIn addition, you can find more detailed information about Google Tag Manager on the websites https://www.google.de/tagmanager/use-policy.html and at https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/index.html under "Data we receive as a result of your use of our services".

Furthermore, we have concluded an order processing agreement with Google for the use of the Google Tag Manager (Art. 28 GDPR). Google processes the data on our behalf in order to trigger the stored tags and display the services on our website. Google may transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.

If you have deactivated individual tracking services (e.g. by setting an opt-out cookie), the deactivation remains in effect for all affected tracking tags that are integrated by the Google Tag Manager.

By integrating the Google Tag Manager, we pursue the purpose of being able to carry out a simplified and clear integration of various services. In addition, the integration of the Google Tag Manager optimizes the loading times of the various services.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data described here is Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR. Our necessary legitimate interest lies in the great benefit that the integration of various services via the Google Tag Manager brings. By integrating the Google Tag Manager, we reduce our maintenance effort as well as the loading effort of the website and the server and traffic load. Google also has a legitimate interest in the collected (personal) data to improve its own services.

Right to object

You have a right of objection.

You have the option to stop all Google Tag Manager tags from being sent. To do this, you only need to click on Deactivate Google Tag Manager to place the Google Tag Manager deactivation cookie in your browser. However, we would like to point out that the deactivation may result in you not being able to use our website or not being able to use it to its full extent.

The processed information is stored only as long as necessary for the intended purpose or as required by law.

The disclosure of personal data is neither legally nor contractually required, nor is it necessary for the conclusion of a contract. You are also not obliged to provide the personal data. • Google Chrome:                    Website
  • Mozilla Firefox:                      Website
  • Apple Safari:                          Website
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer:   Website

By integrating jQuery, we pursue the purpose of including the libraries required for the optimal function of the website in order to be able to use them.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data described here is Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR. Our necessary legitimate interest lies in the great benefit that an integration of jQuery brings. By being able to integrate the library via the JS Foundation, we reduce our maintenance effort as well as the loading effort of the website. The jQuery Foundation also has a legitimate interest in the collected (personal) data in order to improve its own services.

Right of objection

When loading this iFrame, YouTube or Google may collect information (including personal data) and process it. It cannot be ruled out that YouTube or Google also transmits the information to a server in a third country.

Information on the existing standard data protection clauses of Google and further relevant data on data processing by Google in the context of the use of Google services can be found in this privacy policy under the section "6) Information on Google services".

We use YouTube in the so-called "Enhanced Privacy Mode". According to the information provided by Google, this allows a video to be played without the user behavior being recorded by cookies. We do not collect any data ourselves when you watch a YouTube video on our site.

By integrating YouTube, we pursue the purpose of being able to present various videos to you on our website so that you can watch them directly on our website.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data described here is Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR. Our necessary legitimate interest lies in the great benefit that YouTube offers. By integrating external videos, we relieve our servers and can use corresponding resources elsewhere. This can, among other things, increase the stability of our servers. YouTube and Google also have a legitimate interest in the collected (personal) data in order to improve their own services.

Right of objection

The disclosure of personal data is neither legally nor contractually required, nor is it necessary for the conclusion of a contract. You are also not obliged to provide the personal data. We do not collect any data ourselves, in the context of providing the fonts.

By integrating fonts, we pursue the purpose of being able to display uniform font types on your device.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data described here is Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR. Our necessary legitimate interest lies in the great benefit that a uniform display of fonts offers. Through the possibility of a uniform presentation, we keep the design effort lower than if we had to react to font standards of different operating systems or browsers with our own graphically adapted web pages. Furthermore, MyFonts has a legitimate interest in the collected (personal) data in order to improve its own services.

Right of objection

You have a right of objection. You can send or inform us of your objection at any time (e.g. by email to gdpr@walterscheid.com).

c. LinkedIn

We make use of the information service and technical platform offered by LinkedIn Corporation (2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as: LinkedIn).

We would like to point out that you use this site and its functions on your own responsibility. This applies in particular to the use of the interactive functions (e.g. commenting, sharing, rating). When you visit this site, LinkedIn collects, among other things, your IP address and other information that is present on your PC in the form of cookies. This information is used to provide us, as the operator of this site, with statistical information about the use of this site. The data collected about you in this context is processed by LinkedIn and, if necessary, transferred to countries outside the European Union. What information LinkedIn receives and how it is used is described in general terms by LinkedIn in its data usage guidelines and data protection policies. There you will also find information on how to contact LinkedIn. The data use policy and complete data policy are available at the following link: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy?_l=en_EN

We do not know how LinkedIn uses the data from visits to LinkedIn pages for its own purposes, to what extent activities on the LinkedIn page are assigned to individual users, how long LinkedIn stores this data and whether data from a visit to the LinkedIn page is passed on to third parties.

When accessing a LinkedIn page, the IP address assigned to your end device is transmitted to LinkedIn. LinkedIn also stores information about the end devices of its users (e.g. as part of the "login notification" function); if necessary, LinkedIn is thus able to assign IP addresses to individual users.

If you are currently logged in to LinkedIn as a user, a cookie with your LinkedIn identification is located on your end device. This enables LinkedIn to track that you have visited this page and how you have used it. This also applies to all other LinkedIn pages. Via LinkedIn buttons embedded in websites, it is possible for LinkedIn to record your visits to these websites and assign them to your LinkedIn profile. Based on this data, content or advertising can be offered tailored to you.

If you want to avoid this, you should log out of LinkedIn or disable the "stay logged in" feature, delete the cookies present on your device, and exit and restart your browser. In this way, LinkedIn information through which you can be directly identified will be deleted. This allows you to use our LinkedIn page without revealing your LinkedIn identifier. When you access interactive features of the site (like, comment, share, news, etc.), a LinkedIn login screen will appear. After any login, you will again be recognizable to LinkedIn as a specific user.

For information on how to manage or delete information about you, please visit the following LinkedIn support pages: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy?_l=en_EN

The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest to communicate with you, to inform you and to use the reach strength of LinkedIn.
